'Making the Case for the Athletic Administrator'
The role of the athletic administrator in today's educational landscape has expanded far beyond managing sports programs in recent decades. Athletic administrators are now increasingly responsible for shaping school culture, ensuring compliance with regulations, fostering student development through athletics, overseeing the physical and emotional well-being of student-athletes, and engaging with the broader community to create a positive image for the school. This position requires professional leadership, educational advocacy and a sophisticated skill set encompassing risk management and legal compliance. A well-supported athletic administrator is essential for the success of educational institutions, as they play a key role in ensuring student safety, managing district liability, and fostering a positive and effective athletic environment.Click here to read the full document.

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) has become the first association to receive accreditation from Cognia (formerly AdvancED). Cognia is the equivalent of New England's Accreditation Team: NEASC.The initial Accreditation came in February of 2011 after the NIAAA hosted a review team in December of 2010 at the National athletic Directors conference (NADC). Subsequent to that review and recommendation from the team, in early February, the Cognia board of directors granted the NIAAA accreditation status for five years. Achieving this status has provided significant positive implications for the organization, its member state associations, individual members and our college partners. Everyone in the NIAAA family is extremely proud of this achievement. It is an accomplishment that is owned by every member of the association. In December of 2015, the NIAAA again hosted a Cognia review team at the NADC. Subsequent to that review, the NIAAA Accredi
